A rare find! This UNUSUAL piece| made by the famed blanket manufacturer|was probably intended for use as a rug because of its dense weaving and weight. It is not reversible like the Oregon City blankets (the pattern is strong on one side and pale| masked by the weaving threads on the reverse). The manufacturer's label is on the reverse. The brick red| dark brown and neutral taupe and cream| and the pattern| echo true Navajo weavings. Perhaps this was the manufacturer's experiment to see if these could be made to compete with hand-woven rugs.
