AFRICAN AMERICAN FOUR POINT OR KITE ANTIQUE QUILT
Judging from the long narrow shape, this is what is referred to as a hired hand's or cot quilt, also called a trundle quilt and intended for narrow bed. The pattern is traditional-four point star-like design with the arms pieced of random bits of scrap fabric. In this example the fabrics are wools mostly dark suitings, perhaps the remnants of worn out clothing. Collected in Tennessee.
