Lustrous fabrics combine wool with silk and indicate a possible Quaker origin, though who made it is unknown. The blocks pieced of the lighter background plaids look as if they are diamonds laid on top of squares, which is fascinating to me because it is yet another tweak to a most traditional geometric pattern that I have never seen before. For this distinction alone it is striking to add to a log cabin quilt collection. Condition has some issues at the corners where the silken woolen fabrics are starting to fray apart no doubt from repeatedly grasping them to maneuver the quilt in use.
