Random shaped pieces of wool are appliqued to a foundation fabric and outline embroidered in double rows of stitchery. rather than being pieced together as in traditional crazy quilts. This' tile' technique is usually seen only in cotton crazy quilts and is quite uncommon as a technique. Possibly made as a hired hand's bed covering for utility, but embellished with double rows of embroidery to relieve the somberness of the heavier wool suiting in it.
