What an intricate combination of patterns using simple geometric shapes of squares and rectangles, arranged as Sixteen Patch, Nine Patch, and Four Patch Bars, Each block is a Nine Patch, with that piecing in the center, and the corners are the Sixteen Patch elements. The majority of the blocks are each done in a different solid color; the repeats are only in the pale grey blocks. All together they make for a special and lively palette . Fine wool gabardine. Origin unknown, likely Ohio or Western PA, possibly Amish or Mennonite. I've not seen this piecing arrangement before. There are a few moth dings around the edge but they do not affect its strength or durability.
