FANS as the pieced blocks in dark| saturated color wools are a favorite winter quilt pattern in Pennsylvania| I have discovered| and this one is top notch. Late Victorian| though wool it is as lavishly embroidered all over with fancy stitchery as if it were silk. The jaunty diagonal strips border further energizes it. Meant to chase the winter blues away| it has a heavier batting| so it is cosy and graphic.
