| A three-dimensional optical illusion was achieved by grouping narrow multi-colored strips into triangles and alternating them with solid purple triangles. Each seam is outlined in refined, restrained embroidery stitches of the style seen in antique Amish and Mennonite quilts from time to time. Origin unidentified, possibly western Pennsylvania or Ohio. Ex-collection of Phyllis Haders--dealer, collector and author of the first scholarly survey books on Amish quilts, including "Sunshine and Shadow".
