A sinuous serpentine path of yellow meanders through the red ground in this African American traditional southern folkloric pattern. It is said that the twisting lines prevent evil spirits from getting to the sleeper. Boldest respresentation of a folk tale that I have encountered, and I always try to have a quilt in this pattern in inventory, just to be safe! Collected in Lousiana
