CRAZY QUILT IN SQUARES ANTIQUE SILK QUILT
An unusual configuration for a crazy quilt made with squares rather than random shaped scraps. Another intriguing distinction are the appliques of lithographed figures and postcard-like printed elements appliqued on throughout the quilt. Traditional crazy quilt stitchery in the pieced center and the border where a wheat- like pattern in gold thread is repeated. Perhaps the cockade ribbon in the corner was a prize awarded this unusual Victorian showstopper. Lovely golden red tonality
