Format is characteristic of Ohio quilts from this, the largest Amish community in the U.S, but interestingly is made more square than the traditional rectangle. Scroll the site to see another somewhat earlier Roman Stripe in wool and cotton, also black border, that is more rectangular. I love this pattern, so you will find several variations among the Amish and Mennonite selections.. Superb mint condition, workmanship, colors.
