This handsome coverlet in patriotic colors has a distinctive border along the two sides featuring eagles with ribbons| hearts and floral motifs. On the reverse side| red and blue eagles appear on a cream ground. Weaver unknown| probably Pennsylvania; this eagle motif is seen in the work of several weavers| but the format of bordering just the two sides and not the foot also is uncommon.
