The corner block bears the inscription: Agriculture and Manufactures are the Foundation of Our Independence, something we should have remembered currently before outsourcing our production overseas! James Alexander's work as a weaver who emigrated here from Great Britain is well documented. The quality and workmanship is superlative. Who the coverlet was woven for is unknown. Dates from the late second quarter of the 19th century.
