| An exuberant graphic thanks to intense piecing -- from the star pieced of myriad shards of printed cotton of the era, to the field with satellite stars, to the border all around with pieced diamonds. A more traditional star would have had its arms piced of such diamonds, but this quiltmaker was adventurous and also frugal, using many many period print scraps of cotton.
