FRIENDSHIP PLUME
A pattern published by the Mountain Mist Company but so uncommon - just a few known; can be seen in museum collections--D.A.R. Museum in Washington, and the Great Lakes Quilt Museum at Michigan State  Chocolate brown as a background color was a brief trend favored by sophisticated quilt makers which I have found perhaps half a dozen times in my quilt buying. A folded-and-cut applique technique sometimes mistaken for the distinctive Pennsylvania 'scherenschnitte' (cut paper-type) technique or an Hawaiian quilt. The scalloped border outlined in yellow accented with dots adds a dressmaker finish to an elegant and beautifully executed quilt.
