| Wow, what an intense friendship or tithing quilt. "Crazy" squares contain elongated shards of wool. But rather than carefully place each name on a strip or shard, names are embroidered without a direction over several of them in no attempt to maintain order in adding all these people. The embroidery is dense and appears to have been done by several hands. The many squares are framed within bold wide sashing with corner blocks in an effort to contain the exuberance of the enterprise. Dated 1922, but not identified as to location or group. Quilts like this were often made as fundraisers, for which each person was charged to have his/her name included on the quilt.
