Nine squares with pieced stars that appear to be in motion thanks to the skillful placement of the colors. Red points seem to support 'revolving' strips of yellow, outlined in forest green. The whole composition is a tour de force of the genre in reduced scale form: there is sashing with corner blocks uniting all the pieced blocks, and a fabulous piano key border with diagonal strips of yellow and green echoing the coloration in the stars. Mint untouched condition. A superb and uncommon example among the strongly colored solid cotton pieced quilts that we have come to adore from that Lancaster PA community.
