| The first trans-Atlantic flight of Charles Lindberg inspired this pieced pattern which was published around the time it occurred. Though appreciation for his feat was intense and widespread, surprisingly not so many airplane quilts have surfaced. An orange grid frames airplanes in a variety of deep pastel colors on a creamy ground. Machine quilting outlines the planes and sashing. Color in first photo too sharp, too dull in second, is bold, not primary, interesting period colors and caramel sashing. Excellent condition
