A red roof on a classic 1930s cottage is just one intricate detail in intense embroidery on this charming spread. The vignette with trees and flowers has elements repeated across the top to define the area for pillows. Normally this kind of intense needlework is found only in small squares often on black velvet meant to be pillow fronts. Until this charming example I had never seen the concept enlarged like this to become a larger size spread.
