A modern graphic design in a 19th century wool quilt. The red and black solids are pieced like a checkerboard (rews of four patch blocks) to form concentric rows of squares alternating with solid black wool rows. The red wool cloth may have been cut from military uniforms. Collected in Maine but may be made Canadian, made of the wool for uniforms for Royal Mounties.
