VELVET WILDFLOWERS and GRASSES EMBROIDERED ANTIQUE QUILT
| Beautifully rendered wildflowers and grasses are embroidered on velvet diamonds, mostly black but some a rich brown. Set in a diamond lattice sashing; everything is accented with double rows of white stitching that looks like interlacing. Embroidery of the type was usually done for Victorian crazy quilts, so to find this beauty on sturdier velvet is a special discovery. Backing is homespun linen added later
