LINSEY-WOOLSEY FOUR-PATCH COUNTERPANE
| Hard-to-find pieced pattern in an 18th-early 19th century linsey. Four-Patch and One-Patch squares are set on the diagonal in a Straight Furrow-like pattern, adding to the allure of this early pieced composition. Also rare to find are the several colors together in a linsey; with that sumptuous glazed indigo calimanco border -- priceless! Had to have despite splits and flaws that are consistent with the age, these are minor condition issues given the entirety of this rare quilt-- pieced, multicolor, historic scarcity.
