MORNING GLORY FLORAL APPLIQUE ANTIQUE QUILT
A lovely example of the Colonial Revival penchant for creating floral appliques in realistic variations rather than the generic florals in red and green of the 19th century. Many recognizable florals came out of the quilt artists and design studios of the Depression era and later. This is a classic format featuring a central medallion, here framed with a green vining leaf border The non directional flower placement here allows the quilt to be used vertically or horizontally.
