E PLURIBUS UNUM....HARRY TYLER 1853 ANTIQUE JACQUARD COVERLET

Likely woven by New York State weaver Harry Tyler, for whom this E Pluribus Unum signature corner block is characteristic and documented. To my experience, this high quality supple weaving is most unusual because the weave has a 'ribbed' fine stripe appearance as the background, and the color reads as more black than the dark dark indigo it probably is. Completely reversible to use on either the dark face or the white face, with the legend legible on either side. Have not done geneological research yet to flesh out Maria Russell, located in St Lawrence County, New York. In excellent untouched condition. A wonderful gift for a new citizen or a client or yourself.
