Each piece measures 3/8"(that's less than 1/2"!). Attempting to count out the blocks, we figured 44.370 pieces, one of the largest volume of pieces in a quilt ever recorded. A note pinned to the back said Jo Wilson, Nassau New York. The lights and darks of the late19th century prints are aranged to communicate a pattern of concentric squares. The pointillistic effect reminds me of the paintings of contemporary artist Chuck Close. Now mounted on a folding stretcher. Price upon request
