A central basket surrounded by various flowers, this dimensional sculpted embroidery was fashionable among Victorian needlewomen. Folky composition rather than realistic depiction. Similar to one in the Paley collection sold at Sotheby's, perhaps by the same hand or inspired by the same published instruction in Godey's Lady's Book or elsewhere. Original perimenter frame.
