What an astonishing piece of needlework - its superb pictorials of World War I doughboys (soldiers) and classic patriotic phrases were executed all by hand in skillful crochet work. Legible are the wonderful sentiments that are well remembered slogans from World War I. as Deftly crocheted pictorials repeat the classic soldier figure of that era too. This spread can be used on a bed, or as a tablecloth, it or can be stretcher mounted for wall display (if you choose this option, it is advisable to mount it on a background of color so the details are visible on contrast, which we should have done to photograph it.) Excellent, untouched condition. Published in Sue Reich's 2016 book on the quilts of the World War I era.
