Enchanting imagery of a smiling (!) dog set in front of a wooded landscape and framed with the corner scrollwork seen in 19th century pattern rugs coming from the stencils of New England rug designers. However, as this is the only one I have ever seen like this, is it the creation of an artistic individual who was inspired by the imagery available in the marketed patterns? Has a velvety feel to the 100 year + surface, colors softened over time but the motifs are still clear. Professionally mounted for wonderful display on the principal wall in a living room, for example, or elsewhere you want to make a significant visual statement.
