NEW YORK STATE SEAL SAILOR'S SILKWORK ANTIQUE PICTURE

NEW YORK STATE SEAL SAILOR'S SILKWORK ANTIQUE PICTURE

A rarity among the sailor's souvenir silkwork is the individual state emblem needlework. I have seen only a silkwork pictures from American states, and don't know if there were these made for every state in the Union or just those with naval ports.

The New York State seal is accurate in its presentation with the figures and the motto, even though a word is misspelled. Sorry about the florescent light reflection at the top of the pictur
e. T
his is probably one of the many souvenir pieces brought back from the Far East China Relief Expedition (or one somewhat later) which was part of a multi-national military effort known as the Eight Nation Alliance. The United States sent troops on this Expedition from 1900 and 1901 in the waning years of the Boxer Rebellion.

Ask us about other sailor's silkwork pictures now in inventory, we can offer you a wonderful collection to display
