Beautifully rendered articulated figure of a black woman in Civil War era calico clothing. Photos do not do justice to the face and details. Articulated arms have elegant long fingered wooden hands; carefully carved feet. Body is padded beneath period clothing--blouse| skirt| petticoat| head kerchief. Original linen string has broken but is still there and could be restrung to display. Expressive face; a lovely special piece of folk art
