This most uncommon 'Friendship" quilt contains initials in many of the blocks, suggesting these were family or friends who contributed to the completed quilt, perhaps as a wedding gift? The pattern is also an uncommon find, in that it incorporated pieced Bowtie blocks that are set on point and in rotation to surround a circle motif at each group's center. Classic Holmes County Ohio Amish attributes, including the use of black cotton sateen and rich deep jewel tones inthe piecing. Excellent untouched condition.
