What an elegant combination of unusual colors and fabrics. This is a distinctive find among all the Log Cabin quilt variations that were made in the 19th century, thanks to itscial fine damask patterned woolens in rich rich tones of blue and wine. These are not the typical bright challis prints seen in other quilts, but rather luxurious expensive jacquard weaves, that express a subtle lustrous sheen. The detail photo shows the colors best. And this exciting graphic with strips set on the diagonal is a less frequently seen variation and dynamic version of the Log Cabin oeuvre.
