This is a visually distinctive variation of the Log Cabin format. Rather than showing the classic Light and Dark diamond formation, this example has light, medium and dark diamonds. In addition, the diamonds are made alternating the light and dark tones within, so the overall effect is of striped diamonds, and interwoven striped ribbons. Congratulations to the quiltmaker who achieved this compelling variation. What a good discovery for a collector of log cabin patterns. The quilt's warm and unique color scheme is another uncommon plus. Strips of camel and chocolate border the quilt all around.
