JAPANESE SAKI-ORI ANTIQUE RAG WOVEN SPREAD, CARPET
Luxurious yet utilitarian bedcover/sleeping mat/table cover, floor covering, you choose the use. Handwoven silk from a multitude of kimono rag strips in a luscious color melange (this re-use of materials is a universal handicaft). This one is exceptional for its larger size,| made of 4 panels sewn together. A rare find. Backed with an indigo ticking stripe so it can be used on either side. Excellent, really mint condition, there is no damage or patching as is sometimes seen in well-used Japanese household textiles.
