An enchanting and fresh graphic in the oeuvre of classic mid 19th century red and green on white applique florals, this unusual example has three large blossoms emerging on stems from a teeny tiny pot. The blooms are three dimensional consisting of scalloped layers one atop the other to give a plumped up appearance. And by setting the identical blocks on point, this creative thinker and quilter made something dynamic to further catch the eye. Though a smidge different in top and side dimensions I think this example would look even more exciting if it were to be hung on a wall as a diamond shape. In excellent professionally laundered condition.
