Edna Jane Howell, 1838, Riverhead Long Island was the local girl for whom this early early jacquard coverlet was woven. This ia a rare New York piece, in superb condition, with the characteristic background of LI coverlets detailed with dots. One of several 19th century textiles I have with the name HOWELL, am having research conducted to discover if these are family links. Would be lovely to have this coverlet, my sampler, and the Riverhead/Bayshore embroidered candlewick bedspread go together to the same home. talk to me!
