A single star fills the entire square rug, with smaller stars between the 'arms.' Hooked so it resembles a pieced Star of Bethlehem pattern quilt, but interesting because of the color choice-neutrals with golden tones. I love combinations of pattern in one item, so this wide framework of colorful diamonds in a squared grid, surrounding a beige field with squiggly brown lines is both lively and unusual. Fresh colors in a jewel tone palette on beige, within a cocoa brown outermost border. I have not seen this pattern before.

Intriguing graphic combines solid 'bricks'with dark rectangular outlines, with sizzlingly patterned bricks arranged in stepped diagonal rows. Not only is there a defined line border around the hooked portion, there is also a wide braided border encompassing all the pattern for an extra dimension of artistic composition. Richly colored deep tone pastels form a fresh eye-catching variation of a classic log cabin hooked rug pattern. Enlivened with what looks like asymmmetry thanks to the placement of the 'hearth' square in the corner of section. Bold both in color and scale of the narrow 'strips' that form the logs. Would look dramatic hanging on the wall, or on the floor as originally intended. A sophisticated graphic presents two concentric circles created freehand, not with a precise outline. These organic shapes are framed with a striking border of smaller circles and a hooked version of thea sewn type of applique mat called lamb's tongue. A really pleasing array successfully combined many colors of rag strips, asrranged as bands bands outlined with terracotta sashing. Original pattern I think, judging from the irregularity of the widths of the scolor and their random placement. Initialled AVJ 43 at one end (1943?). A great dynamic graphic with lots of impact thanks to the colors and the stepped graphic punctuated with a blackdiamond grid. A diamond medallion center framed with an elaborate wide border is a classic hooked rug version of an antique oriental rug, perhaps designed by famed Massachusetts rug teacher Pearl McGown. Finely crafted with velvet like surface, blue strie color variations in the ground, rose and warm tones in the patterning. Whoever hooked it learned her skills well
