  • 79" x 82"
  • 1880s
  • Excellent, minor old mend
  • $ 9,500.00

WS 10785

A monumental graphic created from an elementary format--the pieced top made first as a Bars alternating tobacco and brilliant blue wool, then cut in four quadrants and their directions rotated to achieve this powerful image. Remarkably modern graphic from a quilt that dates from the last quarter of the 19th century and from a religious based community, most likely Amish or Mennonite Lancaster County, PA origin.

MAPLE LEAF tropical Deco prints

  • 78 sq
  • 1920-30s
  • Excellent never used crisp
  • $ 850.00
  • available

WS 10789

Wow, what an impact when tropical prints are used instead of staid solid colors to piece the classic leaf pattern. Hot colors in mostly verdant prints in teal, aqua, gold, hot pink. Skillfully pieced, a surely one-of-a-kind departure from the staid autumn leaf traditionals. All leaves face in the same direction, easy to look at should you want to hang it

SEERSUCKER FOUR-POINT or KITE

  • 78 sq
  • 1940s
  • Crisp never used untouched
  • $ 785.00
  • available

WS 10790

This is only the second quilt I have ever had pieced of seersucker, I think because because how the fabric is created makes it more difficult to piece evenly. This quiltmaker surmounted that challenge and made many blocks using a variety of seersucker prints, containing all within a solid salmon color border.

POSTAGE STAMP UPSCALED NINE PATCH

  • 76 "sq (double)
  • 1920-30s
  • Excellent untouched
  • $ 1,150.00
  • available

WS 10791

A complex and intricate pattern that enlarges a Nine Patch pattern to a monumental scale using postage stamp size pieces! Refreshing concept. Large pieced blocks contain 100+ tiny postage stamp prints. Placement of the greens within has created Xs that connect the blocks. That green is repeated in the green inner border and even more postage stamps create an outer border and corner blocks. Whew, lots of strategizing went into this composition; I couldn't do it, that's for sure.
