GOT ZIGZAG FEVER? If You Missed Missoni at Target, Look to our Antique Textiles for the Buzz

If the fervor over the zigzag pattern in the sold-out Missoni for Target collection has made you eager to add visual excitement to your décor, consider the zigzag in antique quilts and hooked rugs at NYC’s FISHER HERITAGE.
This dynamic pattern is always seen in our vast range of pieced quilts dating from the 1850s to the 1950s, and in geometric hooked rugs and woven textiles. Whether the quilts have just two colors or a multitude of printed cottons, the impact is brilliantly graphic, as it is in hooked rugs that combine variegated wool strips that animate their flat surfaces.

A timeless design, the zigzag will remain a desirable, collectible image a hundred years from now.
Sometimes called “Streak of Lightning” for its resemblance to that natural phenomenon, it is is especially dramatic in older richly colored wool quilts.
